On Friday, March 9th, please come celebrate Stukenborg Press as it turns 150. Bryan Christopher Baker moved his shop to Detroit in late May of last year; into a building that would eventually become known as Ponyride. Arriving just before the first wave of deconstruction began in the process of renovation, the month of June was spent setting up a temporary studio and finishing the printing of a few projects that were carried over from the previous NYC location. The first "Detroit" based project began in July, and subsequently March 9th will mark the "150th day of business in Detroit." During that time renovation on the building continued as did the printing. Walls came down and walls went up, and the printing equipment got to ride the freight elevator a few times. This small upcoming occasion will unveil the space to folks who have yet been able come around for a visit, and also offer a chance for many people to see everything running and pull a print themselves. There will be snacks and glorious door-prizes.
